SESSION ONE - CHAPTER FIVE
Review the basics of fuel system design, including an overview of return-style vs. returnless fuel systems, and get tips and techniques for mapping your fuel system. This video also covers individual fuel system components such as fuel pumps, hoses, and fuel cells.
The fuel pump, or fuel sender unit, sends pressurized fuel to the fuel rail on the engine. This video goes through pulling the fuel pump from the tank, disassembling the fuel pump, and explaining the electric DC motor with a paddle, the pickup screen, float, tank level sensing unit, filter, pressure regulator, and empty level sensor.
The Carburetor was the #1-way engine that mixed air and gas before fuel injection. With so many components working in unison, the carburetor can seem pretty intimidating, but fear not! Bart is here to explain the mysterious workings of the CARBURETOR.
This is a detailed comparison of three different kinds of fuel injection systems. Port injection (or PFI), direct fuel injection (GDI or gasoline direct injection), and dual injection, which is a combination of port and direct fuel injection. We will see how each setup works, and how they differ from each other and we will, of course, examine the benefits and drawbacks of each setup, so, let's get started.
